Course Objectives

This program aims to provide students with a degree qualification in Chinese Medicine Pharmacy (CMP) to meet the human resource demands of the Chinese medicine industry. Its primary objective is to offer students comprehensive education and training in Chinese medicine, enabling them to navigate the complex and challenging requirements of the sector. The curriculum will provide students with a solid foundation of both traditional and scientific knowledge, while also cultivating the practical skills and techniques necessary for professional practice in Chinese medicine. Furthermore, the program seeks to foster students' analytical abilities and critical thinking skills, empowering them to effectively assume supervisory and managerial responsibilities throughout their professional careers.

Professional Accreditation

Graduates possessing at least six months of practical work experience in the manufacture of proprietary Chinese medicines or the dispensing of Chinese herbal medicines may, pursuant to the *Chinese Medicine Ordinance*, be nominated to serve as a person-in-charge—or a deputy thereof—responsible for supervising the manufacture of proprietary Chinese medicines (Cap. 549, Section 132(1)(b)) or the dispensing of Chinese herbal medicines (Cap. 549, Section 114(2)(b)).

Graduates are eligible to apply for membership in the Hong Kong Association of Chinese Medicine Practitioners.

Admission Requirements for Specific Courses

Entering First Grade

香港中學文憑考試相關應用學習科目最多計算兩科。相關應用學習科目包括︰
中醫藥學基礎、基礎健康護理、健康護理實務、醫務化驗科學。

申請人可能需要參加面試。

Entering Grade 2 / Grade 3

Graduates holding a relevant Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification.

Depending on the individual student's background, Associate Degree graduates may be required to complete additional relevant modules (subject to separate fees).
